How to make a treasury on Etsy

1st Screenshot

From this screen you will notice down the center a place to click next to the words Treasury List > See More, you click on it.

2nd Screenshot

Next look to the right column under Curator Tools  and click on Create a List

3rd Screenshot

Here is where you begin to make a list. Personally I open another tab at this point. It depends on the operating system you are using. On Mac, you click the plus sign on the ribbon near the top right. Internet Explorer is very much the same.

Look Up above on the first screenshot, to the right under my shop is a list of "Items I Love" Items I love are from other people's shop. Over the course of time, I have hearted them which results in the item going into my activity thread. Now I'm going to use them to make a treasury.

4th Screenshot

By hovering over the an individual item and right clicking, a menu pops up. Looking down the list, I hit copy link. Then I go back to the second page and put the copied link into the box that says listing URL (screenshot 3). Repeat this process 15 more times. Add a title, description and some tags, then save. And there you have it - How to make a treasury.

Etsy School - Getting found

Week 3

SEO Optimization
Use Titles that are distinct-I have been putting a lot more into my titles such as exactly what it is and then classifying it. So I need to shorten up some of my titles.

Another section for this section of school was translate your shop into another language. I choose to translate my shop into the Spanish language since the only International sales I have had was to Peru. I'm using the google translator app to add translations. It's basically cut and paste. Kinda neat.

My partner and the gals on the class board critiqued my shop in week 1. Since then and now I have updated my about page, what I like to do for my shop, listed lots of items to help relevancy. I did note a drop from my position in google search after completely redoing the Heisey Listing. I'm sure it will come back stronger. I didn't realize the change would effect searching but I know it did. So for my own future reference, if an item is strong in google search, don't change it. If it ain't broke it don't need it.....Just saying'

So here is a picture that my partner has to work on. I hope for some new interesting title for it. He also needs to think up a keyword or two.

This is a board of collectible wooden buttons that I found at the auction house. They are displayed nicely and there is a nice variety to look at.

Thanks Roxie

EPSTEAM on Etsy is a community of people who help each other with sales promotion. All they ask for in return is that I show the same appreciation towards their store as they do for mine. It's a reciprocation of hearts! You get what you give, that's for sure. These ladies make it fun, team spirited, goal orientated. Anyways, here's my special shout out to Roxie from SoBeJeweled. Her vintage jewelry shop has a wonderful selection of jewelry from many designers. She always surprises me with new merchandise she has found. Most of all, she mentors a lot of people without expectation. Visit So BeJeweled to see her classic and modern jewelry finds!

Etsy School - Shop Photography Week

Here are two photos from my Etsy store that need major improvement. The Heisey butter dish is gorgeous and the pictures are very bad. I took this shot the first photo shoot. It was outside using two blankets and it shows I put very little time or thought into it.

The bottle shot was planned and thought out. The pictures are bad because it doesn't show the whole item. A customer might think it's the rag doll, can't see the bottles beauty, and the item isn't featured entirely.

This week our team is going to do an exercise changing two items photos . these are my two before photos.

This picture is remaining the same, as my partner thought it was good.

Here's the original Heisey Butter Dish Shot

Here's the reshoot. I'm not sure if it's as clear, but you can see it better right? The first picture was taken using natural light. I believe the natural lighting worked better. Secondly, the second picture used a different background and I thought it worked more nicely. However, the initial pictures were very reddish. I used iPhoto to dial it back into a brown more natural color.

Bill Guest from PaganCellarJewelry@Etsy is my partner for this project. His before photo selections are shown here.

Later this week, we will see how we did reshooting the photographs for our listings. You can also see Billy's one of a kind and vintage jewelry by following this link. http://www.etsy.com/shop/PaganCellarJewelry There is a huge selection at great prices.

Anyhow, we are putting our badly pictured listings into treasuries. Here's the one I made. Click on the link below to see how it looks if you want...the before shots should be changing after Valentine's Day

Etsy School

Promotional Frenzy Team goes to school.

Most of the team members I work with are going to school during the month of February. We are starting out with store critiques. We have been paired up with a fellow member and are working together. I'm excited to learn more about online selling in the e-marketplace. The course follows five separate areas. AND the best part is it's a free course offered by Etsy.

Etsy Sales

Recently I decided to pursue Etsy Sales online for vintage finds. Really it's an excuse to buy more antiques and vintage home decorations. In the process I have met up with some groups of people that are making me see this adventure as a business opportunity that I just can't pass up. One team I love alot is the Etsy Picker's and Sellers Team and the other is the Promotional Frenzy Team because each has made me feel welcome, helped me learn to promote without paid advertising, and are good organizers. Granted these teams make it seem easy and it's alot of hard work. I'm glad I found them and have learned a few new social media marketing tricks.

Auction find

I found the prettiest quilt at auction. It is the Texas Star or Lone Star. It has a little bit of aging on it, such as a tattered binding and some weakness in the fabric blocks, but I love the actual quilting. It was meticulously quilted around each piece. I haven't laundered it yet as I believe it doesn't really need it as of yet. The longer it stays in my possession, the more likely I will be to place it in the tub, use a bar of fels naphtha on it. When I get a vintage quilt, I like to treat them kindly when there's signs of wear. I would consider spending a few hours cleaning it use wash, rinse and repeat to get the entire quilt clean.
